Case studies

I was contacted by Figg Fiber to create some images of the shawls they produce, that would reflect their message of beauty, elegance and artistry. There was a very tight turnaround time as the client wanted the photos, a business card and a basic one-page website developed within a two week period. Using my home studio, I was able to set up some still lifes with some basic lighting and props. Visit www.figgfiber.com for more details.

I was engaged to produce a graduation photo that depicted a grown-up, sophisticated, yet casual look. Choosing to shoot at the sitters' home where the subject would feel more relaxed and less formal, I worked to come up with different backdrops within the house to capture the essense of a semi-formal portrait. The images are to be sent out as part of the invitation to the family-planned graduation party. Both the sitter and her parents were delighted with the results.

"Angela is truly a perfectionist. She came to our home for our daughter's college graduation photo and she made it look so easy. She captured the true essence of our daughter. I couldn't be happier with the results. There are so many great pictures it's hard to decide which one to use. Thank you Angela."

I was asked to shoot an engagement photograph for Cassandra and TJ. It was important to them both that it be an outdoor, wintery shot, as the proposal took place outdoors in the winter. We chose a location that would provide many different backdrops including woodland and beachfront. The resulting shots capture a variety of posses, not just a shot for the papers, but shots that they can add to their own visual record fo their lives together.

I was briefed by Matt's mother; Matt loves sports and the outdoors. Both Matt and his parents wanted portraits that showed his love of sport and of baseball in particular. We decided we'd shoot outside at those locations where he had played ball, including his high school field, sports stadium and other outdoor locations.

High school senior year portraits are a huge concern for both the individual and their parents. Prior to any photography I spend several hours with whomever I photograph talking about them; what they think of themselves, their interests, and how they would like to represent themselves. Some prefer a more formal setting & some prefer a more casual setting, a favorite place to hang-out for example. With the case of Jordan, the brief was to produce casual, down-to-earth protraits that show the subject in some of his favorite surrounds.

"Working with Angela gives you so much more than just a couple hours photography; you get to work with an extremely creative person who knows exactly how to capture what you're about."

I was approached and asked to capture the preparations that go on behind the scenes of wedding; the sort of things a bride wants to remember were taking place around her as she prepares herself for one of the most special days of her life! In all the commotion and excitement, a bride often does not remember who did up her dress, organized the flowers on to the lapels of the grooms, etc., and yet this becomes a memory worth charishing as it contributes towards the bigger event, the wedding itself.

"I had asked Angela to record the "behind-the-scenes" goings on of my August wedding. I was hugely impressed by how she seemed to be in all the right places at the right time. She captured the preparations for our big day with artistic flair and visual panache. Her photos have contributed to our final wedding album which would be incomplete without them."
