"Tania's Story" Central TV, England 1995
This documentary, directed by John Arnold, examines the plight of a young Catolic, Croatian lawyer who decides to flea war-torn Yugoslavia for the sake of her young child. Her Muslim husband decides to stay and fight. Narrated by Tania, (not her real name), we learn about her day-to-day life in England without ever seeing her physical self, her portrait being built up using photographs taken of her everyday existance in England.
Shot on location in Nottingham, the photographs (only a small selection shown here), were used for inclusion in and promotion of the film.

First Cut Series", Central Television November 1996, England
With the aid of recorded interviews, film footage and photographic stills, "The Park", a short documentary directed by John Arnold, focuses on the residents of Nottingham's exclusive city within a city known to residents there as "The Park". This historic, walled-in, self contained suburb within the city of Nottingham, raises it's own taxes, has it's own residents associations, tennis clubs, sporting facilities and host traditional, yearly events, such as the summer ball, to raise money for various charities. The documentary sets out to portray this uniqueness through the eyes of its residents and to come to an understanding of what it means to live within The Park.
