Jackie and Ryan's wedding

It was a pleasure working with Jackie and Ryan on their wedding! We worked with them throughout the year, consulting on the types of images they were looking for, the people that would be involved and how best to capture the essesence of the whole wedding. We had bountiful opportunities throughout the day to capture formal and casual portraits at different locations in Portland, Maine, ranging from the coast to the parks. The wedding ceremony was held at the Irish Heritage Center, a lovely gothic building with spectacular architectual features. The images below are a small selection of photos taken on the day. You can view the full gallery of images here.

Nancy and Dennis' wedding

Recently I published a blog about doing a "reckie" at this location; the McKernan Center, Maine. I had the privilege of photographing a lovely wedding there the following week, the wedding of Nancy and Dennis. I was asked to photograph both getting ready, the ceremony, etc, but the couple tell me that their relationship all started with a Corona and a Cosmos, so of course, we start our photographic journal of the day with that too. Congratulations to the wonderful couple! Below is a small sample of images, but you can view the whole gallery here.

Junior High Promotion

I was commissioned to document the preparations for a Junior High Promotion, June 16, 2010. The promotion has a semi formal component to it, the ceremony itself to be followed by a dance. Documenting the preparations for the event and watching before my lens the transformation from school girl to sophisticated graduate was nothing short of awe inspiring and breath taking. Below is a small sample of images taken on the night. For more, read http://blog.angelacoulombe.com/random-still-life/junior-high-promotion/

NESN Little League Sunday

There are moments in life that you'll never forget, that taught you something you can't read in a book, that you have to experience, and I hope this Sunday's expericnce will prove to be just one of these moments for my son. His Litttle League team was choosen to represent the sport at this level on the Red Sox pre-game show on NESN (New England Sport Network), hosted by Kathryn Tappen and baseball Hall of Fame member Jim Rice. Below is a small selection of images taken on the day. I tried to approach it documentary style: before, during and after. Family Portraits

I've had the most extraordinary opportunity to make the acquaintance of a family looking to have a series of portraits created of their children and their family. There were three children varying in ages, which I thought would be quite challenging, but the children were just a delight! Guest blog on Halo Purely for Pets website

an-artist-view-of-halo-spot-stew-halo-purely-for-pets-blog_2 It's been my great priviledge to be able to work with a company as tremendous as Halo Purely for Pets. I recently finished a photo shoot for them featuring their Spot’s Stew line of products, and duly blogged about it. It was great to then see that they took my blog and turned it into a guest blog on their site. Check out the full guest blog at http://blog.halopets.com/2010/05/25/halo-pure-real/

Halo, pure and real!

When Halo Purely for Pets, a company co-owned by Ellen DeGeneres, contacted me to work with them again (see http://blog.angelacoulombe.com/random-still-life/halo-purely-for-pets/), I was over the moon. Halo's mission, to provide people and their pets with honest information and wholesome products to better the lives of animals and the people who love them along with their three guiding principles: balance, nature and love, make this one company who's principles are in line with mine and products I enjoy photographing.

I was focusing on two products: Adult Dog Formula Spot's Stew Wholesome Chicken Recipe and Adult Dog Formula Spot's Stew Wild Salmon Recipe. My brief was to show the natural, healthy and wholesome ingredients that go into each product. And here is what I LOVE about the products the most: the ingredients!!!! Below is a small selection of images from the shoot. To read all about the shoot, visit http://blog.angelacoulombe.com/random-still-life/halo-pure-real/ or visit my products page, http://www.angelacoulombe.com/products.php.

Sonny Sun Photo

This has become one of my favourite shots of my son. A week ago, though now it seems like months ago, the temperatures in Maine, after a rainy cold spell, shot up into the mid 60s F. We were traveling to an event. My son rolled down the car window letting the breeze blow through his hair. He started to sing a song. I turned around and his image seemed one of perfect bliss, embracing all the best things about being young, carefree and genuinely happy. Childhood bliss, is there anything quite like it?

The International Boston Seafood Show 2010

Returning back to the Boston Seafood Show in 2010 presented a slightly different vibe from the 2009 show. I was pleasantly surprised when I was recognized and cordially greeted by several exhibitors that I had photographed the year before. It seems that bond between willing participant and photographer made a lasting impression and I was pleased to be able to re-establish this relationship.
